If you know my sweet husband, Dennis, you know this is his mantra. Just ask him how he is and he will tell you, “Too blessed to be stressed.” I’m serious, try it!
Too many times we ask people how they are and get one or two set answers: “just fine” or they launch into a list of ailments and concerns.
Whether or not they are “Just fine” we don’t really know. But I’ll tell you one thing if they know the Lord they are just fine. If they know they can depend on Him for anything and everything that is going on in their life, then they don’t have to worry. God is in control, and I am very thankful for that.
Our lives are filled with trials and temptations. We can let the world overcome us. We think there is no answer or any way out. If you think those things, you are not letting God be God. You think you have to solve all your problems. God wants you to bring everything to Him. He delights in hearing our prayers for help because He tells us that in our weakness we are made strong. If we turn it over to Him, we need to let Him have it and not pick it right back up again.
The next time you find yourself in a situation that causes you stress, don’t dwell on that but turn to God. He tells us in Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
If you think of this verse, you will truly be too blessed to be stressed.
